Students must be three years old and are required to be fully potty trained to be enrolled in this program. In our Pre-School and Pre-K program your child will begin to learn in the following areas:
- Continue to use their words to communicate their wants and needs.
- Learn to respond to questions from their teacher and peers.
- Developing social skills to carry a conversation with their teacher and peers.
- Participate in a Peaceful Classroom and learn problem solving skills. Such as respect for others, taking turns and using kind words.
- Identifying themselves and others by specific name.
- Practical life skills; focusing on Grace & Courtesy, Care of Self and Care of the Environment around them.
- Exploration of the Montessori classroom such as Practical Life, Sensorial, Geography, Cultural, Math, Language, Art and Movement.
- Self-awareness and Control: using classroom materials appropriately, walking in the classroom, walking around the rug and others work, keeping hands and body to themselves.
- Artistic Expression: your child will learn to express themselves through song, dance, themed art activities and dramatic play. Your child will have the opportunity to explore drama by choosing a specific part, learn placement, lines and songs to create an actual play for your viewing.
- Movement is an important aspect of your child’s development. Your child will participate in activities that are presented in a sequence. Focusing on hand-eye coordination and balance. Such as throwing, catching and balance beam activities.
